Olympics Results and Fun Facts

Meredith Ho, Guest Writer

The biggest day of the year concluded on Friday, March 3rd. Olympics XLIV was the first “normal” Olympics since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. This past Olympics was a very successful day featuring many of its previous traditions, including a return of the entire student body into the Main Gym for all of the exciting Opening Events that were able to run in their entirety. This Olympics also saw the introduction of several new additions. Here are some Olympics event results and fun facts!

Here are some Olympics Fun Facts:

  • There were 16 no-shows in total this year for breakout events, which is amazing compared to past years.
  • Olympic Advisor Ms. Barker’s favorite event to watch was Lip Sync Battle.
  • Skyler Salk did a puppet show for the Lip Sync Battle, which was a rare occurrence.
  • This was the first year that there was a fashion show for a breakout event (called Project Runway).
  • Ms. Barker used to be an Olympic Chair (this year’s Olympic Chairs were Gia Schreitmueller and Sophie Fuentecilla) when she attended Tenafly High School as a student.
  • The new additions to this year’s breakout events were: Saran Wrap Race, Wordle, and Mario Party.

Thank you and congratulations to the Olympic Committee and Olympic Advisors, the Class Officers, the Olympic Coordinators, and all participants for a successful Olympics!
