“Be kind, always,” is the Glow House’s motto. But is this message being proven through the way the members of the Glow House act? The answer to that question is a stark no.
The Glow House is a group of teenage girl influencers who work together to make content on TikTok and YouTube. They have over 25 million followers across all platforms. Initially, the founding purpose of this group was to be a role model for younger viewers while fostering an empowering community for them to look up to. On the outside, that’s what everyone saw. But due to one of the members’ devastating deaths, the truth started to unveil.
Zuza Beine was only 14 when she passed away in September from cancer. She was an active member of the Glow House and was very loved by all her friends and fans. Another member of the Glow House, 19-year-old Samara Bolter, has faced recent suspicions surrounding Samara and Zuza’s “friendship.” Samara and Zuza became particularly close during the 6 months that they knew each other and spent a lot of time together. After Zuza’s death, Samara claimed that she “can’t move on… I’m not ever going to move on from this… she’s coming with me everywhere I go.” Furthermore, she described their friendship as one where they could trust each other more than anyone.
This “bond,” Samara says, that she and Zuza had, contradicts many of her inappropriate actions after Zuza’s death. Instead of grieving, Samara has been posting strange videos about “filming Zuza” when she is filming absolutely nothing but air. She has made some other strange comments, such as when she was washing out her pink hair dye, and claimed she was seeing Zuza in the process. Samara has even used Zuza as an excuse to say harmful things to others, with the excuse that “it’s what Zuza would have wanted.” There have been several other instances where Samara talks about hallucinations she has had with Zuza in them. This has alarmed people. Clearly, something is off with Samara, and she is spinning out of control.
There are assumptions being made that Samara’s recent behavior is due to an unhealthy mental state, possibly influenced by drug use. She has a rocky past and is known to have struggled with depression and drug abuse. She said in a video that Zuza once “saved her,” giving her a new perspective and motivation to carry on. Everyone believed Samara was just dealing with her grief in a unique way, until Zuza’s parents posted something this past week stating that Zuza’s best friend the last three years has been a different girl named Khloe, not Samara. They claimed that there was a girl who had clearly been struggling and using Zuza’s death as a platform to attack their family, which was clearly referring to Samara. Zuza’s parents said that “Zuza would be heartbroken to see her memory used this way”. Shortly after this statement, people started to notice that Samara had stopped following Zuza on TikTok. Whether this was an unfollow on Samara’s part or she was blocked by Zuza’s parents is unknown, but either way, it doesn’t look good on Samara.
The height of this discussion came when Samara posted a “crashout” TikTok where she called different influencers and content creators out on who they really are. She mentioned Zuza multiple times in this video, in between her screaming and raging over “fake friends” and people who weren’t good to Zuza. The response Samara got on this video was that she needed help and may be going through a manic episode. There are many rumors going around about what the actual truth of this story is, and if Samara is going crazy, or just handling Zuza’s death in an unhealthy way. Either way, no one knows the full truth about what’s going on, so it’s better not to spread false information. What we do know for sure is that something suspicious is going on within the Glow House, and we can see now that nothing is ever as it seems.
